Jaybird's Texas Jolly Rancher

A wonderful fellow blogger and fabulous frankener, polish creator, artiste created the polish I have for you today. It came to me  nameless and I was given permission to name it. It was so juicy it reminded me of the green Jolly Ranchers and well it was in Texas. She's in Tennessee. They are the Vol's you know and that has something to do with Texas if memory serves me correctly. So, here it is, Texas Jolly Rancher.

It has gold flakies in it and is jelly and squishy.

And since it is March, I stamped this with a St. Patrick's theme.

Plates I used in this design are Red Angel 107, Konad M22, and Born Pretty M71. 

I realized I haven't done a good job of telling you what I'm using underneath and on top. I'm going to try to do better about that. This mani I started with Trind Balsam, Orly Bonder, Instant Artificials, two coats of polish, then Nubar Diamont. Once that was dry which is usually just a few minutes I stamped with Konad Princess polish and topped it with Sally Hansen Diamond Shine. Then I go over it with quick dry drops from Sally Hansen or L'Oreal whichever is handy. That's an oil not another polish :).

It's a lot of layers, but it protects my nails very well. I'm still playing around with a good combination that will stay on and moisturize my nails.

Layla Hologram Ultra Violet

This is fabulous! I had heard the Layla Holograms were great and was very anxious for a US retailer to get them. I finally was able to order some. They are gorgeous. Ultra Violet is the first one I've tried and if the rest are this good. I will be buying more for sure!

I took this shot under lamp light as soon as I finished polishing. This is just one coat over a base of Sinful Zeus. No topcoat.

Amazing holo! I then headed off to find some sun filtering inside.

I am so impressed. I thought I should experiment a little. I had read that the Sally Hansen Insta Dri top coat works well with these. 

Here it is under incandescent light without topcoat.

This is with the topcoat. It still looks great to me!

I also went outside and took a shot with direct sun and topcoat.

Then I added a second coat of the Layla on just my index and ring finger to see if I was missing something because I had just one coat.

I don't think I was. Which is really great news. This are a little spendy at $15 and the bottles are small. But with just one coat and all that bang! Well, it's well worth it.

Here are my helpers. They both sat in the chair with me while I polished today. So if you notice fuzzies from time to time, this is why! Jack was behind me and Lady was beside me the entire time. lol
