Girly Bits Arctic Sunrise

The lovely Pam at Girly Bits sent me this beautiful polish! It is an instant favorite. The most coincidental thing was I had taken a picture of a sunset the week before planning a polish. She is always a step ahead of me. She is SO great!!!

*I want to apologize for my pictures. My camera refused to pick up the beautiful ALWAYS present pink shimmer/flash and  the right shade of blue in my best lighting. So my pictures that best reflect the coloration are in my kitchen lighting, which make my skin slightly yellow because they are more fluorescent. DH and I had a long discussion about light boxes and new cameras.

I know that last one is crazy blurry, but look at that pink shimmer! The blue is bright, but not neon.  Think China Glaze For Audrey with gorgeous pink shimmer...or RBL Aqua Lily with better pink shimmer. Beautiful Pam!!! A winner as always!

Here are a couple of my natural light photos. In real life, the pink shimmer was very definite, the camera just couldn't translate it. I even tried tweaking, which I normally do not do because I don't have any tools except Windows default.

I also have a quick comp for you. I recently picked up the Ulta exclusive No Time for Postcards. It looks very similar to the OPI from the Katy Perry collection The One that Got Away and Let Me Entertain You from the Burlesque collection. I happen to have them so I thought I'd show you.

Pictures are in this order:  The One that Got Away, No Time For Postcards, Let Me Entertain You

My fake Ott light
 Room lighting
A mix of incandescent and fake Ott
 Diffused natural light (aka window)

The One that Got Away (far left) is definitely darker. No Time for Postcards has less shimmer than either of the other two but is a nice option if you missed them or need a backup. Let Me Entertain You is still my favorite. :) Hope that helped someone.

Hope to see you soon!

  2. I am a beyond all control a total Fuchsia polishholic! Let Me Entertain You is up there at the very tops of my all time fav fuchsia polishes. Not much of it left out there in the secondary market and the prices are going up on it. I have a feeling it's going to be one that has a medium size cult following and we all will be talking about it for years to come - 'that OPI holiday shade with the amazing glass fleck in fuchsia.' Some folks said The One That Got Away is close to Don't Toy With Me by OPI from their Toyland Holiday collection - it's close but not a total dupe. Like you said - darker than 'our' fav LMEY that just has that great shade which lets the glass fleck beam through. I don't have No Time for Postcards - it's a bit blaugh looking compared to the bling the other 2 have going. I am gaga over this Girly Bits shade - sooo purdy!

    1. You are correct. But to be honest, I would take No Time for Postcards over TOTGA just because it is lighter and brighter and closer to the LMEY! :D If only they hadn't skimped on the glass fleck! But then, it would be a complete dupe I suppose and we'd be crying 'dupe'! lol

      Thanks for commenting.

I made a list of the possible dupes of the OPI ulta exclusives, I'm going to put a link to your pictures now, I wasn't sure about No time for postcars, since I don't have any of the possible similars!
